Hi! My name is Sara Joy Marchessault. I’m a writer, life coach, educator, instructional designer, and mother. My colorful career has been a playground for living many of the values I hold dear, most particularly lifelong learning, a love of reading, and a belief that each of us deserves to create a life we love to live.

I wrote “Pinky the Dreamer” to send the message to young girls that they can stand up for themselves, they can achieve that which they set their mind’s too, and above all, they can live a life full of joy through the accomplishments of dreams. I believe that all young girls deserve to be supported and encouraged to explore their ideas and expand their imaginations.

I was first inspired to write Pinky while I was employed in a position that was making me miserable. Every week I was traveling away from my friends and family to go and work in a role that I didn’t feel made a difference and finish each day with take-out in my hotel room while I continued to work well into the night. I thought of Pinky in the airport one afternoon and I soon found that exploring her with my imagination made me feel better than always thinking about the work I was doing. It took me the better part of a year for me to finally let go of the high-stress job. When I finally did, it was to pursue other ventures that were of interest to me. That move was two and half years ago and I still have a lot to learn about completely following my heart in each area of my life. Publishing Pinky the Dreamer and Her Silver Jet is a BIG step in the right direction for me!

I am more pleased than I can say that “Pinky” is now here in a solid state for others to enjoy. Her story represents what work from the heart means to me. I am grateful to you for reading this and Pinky’s story. My wish for you is that venture into the world following your heart to a place of joy and peace.
